We shape our cabins.
Afterward, they shape us.
We handcraft outdoor saunas that combine natural materials with architectural precision. Our structures are designed to provide physical comfort, thermal performance, and a clear connection to the landscape.
Designed for physical and thermal connection.
Our structures are built to continue the traditional Nordic sauna practice. We treat the sauna as an architectural extension of the garden, using layout and materials to create a quiet, functional environment.
The transition between dry heat and cold air provides a clean physical response, relaxing muscles and clearing the mind. We pair rugged Siberian Larch with precision joinery and custom framing. Benches are contoured for comfort, and double-glazed argon panels secure the thermal seal.
“The sauna is a quiet extension of the home, built to be used, not just looked at.”
A centuries-old preservation technique.
Shou Sugi Ban is a traditional Japanese preservation technique. By charring the outer surface of Siberian Larch, we create a carbonised layer that naturally resists decay, weathering, and insect damage.
The process heat-treats the timber, sealing the wood and extending its outdoor service life to over sixty years without chemical oils or stains.
We select slow-grown, FSC-certified Larch for its density and high natural resin content, ensuring the charred finish remains stable and durable.
Unlike chemically treated pine, Shou Sugi Ban retains its deep, obsidian colour for decades, slowly weathering into a rich, complex texture that tells the story of its environment.
Density
650 kg/m³ for exceptional structural strength.
Fire Resistance
Class B Rating (BS EN 13501-1).
Service Life
60+ Years without retreatment.
Built with conscience.
Finished with craft.
Every material we specify is chosen for longevity, not convenience. We prioritise responsibly sourced timber and chemical-free preservation, and build every cabin in our Cheshire workshop.
